ABOUT  THE  ISLAND

The islands lies in the east  of the municipality of  Taytay in Northern Palawan, Philippines. It is approximately 5 nautical miles from Taytay Seaport and few miles from Rodriguez Airport in Taytay, Palawan. 

It has many natural assets that would make it an ideal first class island resort.  It is a 12-hectare island of gently rolling hills, mostly of coconut  vegetation and shrubbery.  The highest point of the island has a maximum elevation of 40 meters above sea level.

The Island has approximately 400 meters long beach. It is blessed with  beaches that could serve a variety of purposes.  Its main beach of fine white sands is about 400 meters long and 60 meters wide. The western portion of the island has the least vegetation while the Northern part has the most  number of coconut trees. Small trees and shrubs  also on  the North and West side  of the island. 


ACCESSIBILITY

The island is best accessible from Manila to Rodriguez Airport in Taytay, Palawan. It is also easily accessible from the El Nido Airport and Puerto Princesa City Airport where there are regular commercial flights. 

 Philippine Airlines, Airphil Express, Cebu Pacific Air and Zest  Air flies directly from Manila to Puerto Princesa City,  there at least 7 flights daily. Flight time is about 1 hour.  

* From Puerto Princesa Airport, take a 3-hour land trip to Taytay, Palawan after which an hour  in a motorized boat or 20 minute speedboat ride from Taytay port to the island.

A smaller rocky island, Manta island, lies approximately 200 metres from the southwest corner of Coral Island. Both islands are surrounded by fringing reef.

The island has large hills with approximately ¼ of the island (8-10 hectares) being flat land at the SW portion. The flat land is behind the beach and extends back about 400-500 metres back to the edge of the hills. This flat land is ideal for resort development.  An island strategically located at Gutob Bay in Busuanga, Palawan. Gutob bay is a very popular for its beautiful and amazing chain of small islands that features white sand beaches and excellent diving site. Gutob bay is close to the popular diving sites of Coron where 7 Japanese warship sunk during the world war II.

Aesthetically, this Island is very attractive, and unlike most of the other islands in the area, is not overshadowed by the hill behind it. The corals surrounding the island are spectaculr, colorful and in wonderful condition. Luckily, the remoteness of this island has protected it from the ravages of local traffic.

The island is shaped like a bone, with two large hills as promontories at either and a thinner section connecting them with a beach on either side. The middle portion comprising the flat land between the two hills as all flat, covered with mature coconut plantations and each side of the island has a very long, white beach. 

The large flat area between the bases of the two hills comprises approximately 16-18 hectares (40-45 acres). The two hills are covered in virgin rainforest with large tropical hardwoods and at the base of the hill are located banana and papaya plantations.

The two beaches are lined with mature palm trees which droop gracefully over the land in between the two beaches, giving both beauty and shade to the area most suitable for development. Just few meters off the beach is a magnificent fringing reef, ideal for snorkeling. The corals surrounding the island are huge, colorful and in wonderful condition. These waters are littered with pristine corals which are inhabited by more varieties of fish than the Caribbean.

This island is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful islands that we have for sale, and one of the top three that we have that would be suitable for the location of a large-scale resort operation. The whole island has superb views, and its situation right in the middle of an archipelago makes it ideal for a base for island hopping.
